From the Rally Secretary

Welcome to the 2005 rallying season. The Officers and Committee hope that you enjoy our extensive rally programme and look forward to meeting you on the rally field at some point throughout the year. There are a couple of things to add to the programme.

Brompton on Swale 10% Rally will open at 12 noon not 1.00p.m as stated in the book and we would like to add that the owners of the site have added a takeaway shop offering an extensive menu providing such things as Pizzas, Burgers, Fish and chips and children’s menu. The shop will be open on both Friday and Saturday night to help reduce the need for cooking over the weekend.

Please also not that the cost for the Barnstones rally 23rd- 30th July and the 30th July –6th August has been calculated incorrectly. It should read £60.75 with electric hook up and £48-41 without electric hook up. Graham will require this amended full fee with booking slips. Dave and Carol Wooler telephone 0113 2507303 have managed to secure York Harness racing Circuit for a small New Years Rally 27/12-02/01/06. All pitches are hard standing and they are offering numerous events over the rally period to keep all the family occupied. The grand finale will be a New Years Eve gala supper and fancy dress disco. If you are interested give them a ring as places are limited to 12 vans.

As you know I have copies of all other centre handbooks. If I am on the rally field I will ask the rally officers if I can leave the books with them so you can come and browse through them at your leisure. If you have seen rallies in the Caravan Club magazine and would like details please don’t hesitate to call me or send an e-mail and we will get you the details.

As mentioned at the Handbook Social, 2006 sees North Yorkshire celebrating our 40th Year of Caravanning and our 2500th Rally. To make this a celebration to remember we are asking all of the children within the centre to try and submit a picture that includes 2500 rallies and our 40th Year. The winning picture will be the cover for the 2006 rally handbook and will be printed on every handbook that we distribute. The pictures will be judged by the committee on the 5th of September in the 3 age categories 5-8, 9-12, 12-15 with the final winner being judged and presented with their prize at the AGM on the 2nd October. Please submit your entries to myself no later than 1st September 2005. Don’t forget if you are interested in becoming a rally officer or have an idea for a venue any member of the committee will be happy to talk to you about what it entails.
